Who is Veerbhadra ?

If you are a Shivaite or a hindu, then you would have heard the name of Veerbhadra, the destroyer form of Lord Shiva, but do you know what was the story behind Lord Shiva taking the form of Veerbhadra. When Lady Sati asked her father King Daksha to let her marry Lord Shiva, he strictly refused this saying that Shiva is a mere yogi who smears himself with ash and lives in cave and that he cannot take care of a princess like you.  Chanakya who is also referred to as Kautilya and Vishnugupt was a brilliant man from the very beginning. Some of the interesting stories related to him are as follows. Once when Chanakya was very young and was out of his house playing around with his friends, a sage came at his house and when he looked at Chanakya, he told his mother that Chanakya has a special canine tooth which is a symbol of royalty. Why is Lord Hanuman depicted in red color?

  We have seen many idols of Lord Hanuman depicted in red colour. But have you ever wondered why is that so? Does it signify anything significantly? Why is Lord Ganesha called Ekdant?

We all know that Lord Ganesha is known as Ekdant because of the reason that he only has one tusk, but many of us do not know the reason why does he only has one tusk. The naming of Lord Ganesha as ekdant has two stories associated with it. These stories are as follows. According to the first story, once when Lord Parshuram was on his way to Mount Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva, to pay Lord Shiva a visit, he was stopped in the middle of his way by Lord Ganesha. Lord Parshuram asked Lord Ganesha to let him pass, but Lord Ganesha clearly refused. On hearing this from Lord Ganesha, Lord Parshuram got furious and hurled his axe at Lord Ganesha. How did King Bindusara got his name?

Who is unfamiliar to the name of the great ruler King Bindusara of Mauryan dynasty? But do you know how did he get his name? It has a great story behind it and that story is as follows. Why is Lord Brahma not Worshipped?

  Lord Brahma, who is referred to as one of the supreme god and a part of the mighty trinity in the Hindu mythology is also referred to as the creator of this universe. Even after playing such a huge role, he is not worshipped among most of the Hindus and there is only one temple dedicated to him which is in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Why is that so?
