Story Of Chanakya - the greatest King Maker

Chanakya who is also referred to as Kautilya and Vishnugupt was a brilliant man from the very beginning. Some of the interesting stories related to him are as follows.

Once when Chanakya was very young and was out of his house playing around with his friends, a sage came at his house and when he looked at Chanakya, he told his mother that Chanakya has a special canine tooth which is a symbol of royalty. After this when Chanakya returned his home at night he found his mother was crying. When he asked her what was the reason, she told him that he has a special canine tooth and that he will be having a royal life and therefore will forget her. On hearing this, Chanakya immediately took a stone and broke the canine tooth saying that if his mother is not happy with his royal life, then he does not want such life.

Chanakya lived in the kingdom of Dhana Nanda and had heard that Dhana Nanda was very generous towards his people. Once when Chanakya approached him and asked for some donations, he insulted him saying that he is a very ugly guy and that he should not be standing in front of the king and he threw him out of his court. On that day Chanakya vowed that he will dethrone Dhana Nanda and will get his respect back.

One day while roaming around in the jungle Chanakya saw a young boy playing the role of a king among his friends during a play. He was so mesmerized by this young boy's attitude that he decided to make him the new king of Patliputra,  the capital of the kingdom of Dhana Nanda. This young boy was Chandragupta.

When Chanakya was assured that he has trained Chandragupta well enough, he decided to attack Patliputra but failed in his first attack. After this when Chanakya was passing by a hut, he saw a child being scolded by his mother for eating the hot roti from the middle. She told her child that he is stupid like Chanakya who tried to eat the hot roti from its inner core first. Chanakya realized his mistake, thanked that lady and again planned an attack on Dhana Nanda's empire, but this time he attacked the outskirts of the kingdom. Once he captured them, thrn he moved towards the capital city - Patliputra and this time, he was able to capture Patliputra as well. After this, he dethrone Dhana Nanda and made Chandragupta the new king of Patliputra.

Thank You!

Who is unfamiliar to the name of the great ruler King Bindusara of Mauryan dynasty? But do you know how did he get his name? It has a great story behind it and that story is as follows. We all have heard the name of the greatest teacher and mentor, Acharya Chanakya (also known as Kautilya or Vishnu Gupt). As we know he was a mentor to King Chandragupta Maurya and he practises a unique technique of administrating poison to King Chandragupta via his food. He practises this so that if sometime the enemy tries to poison King Chandragupta's food, his body will be prepared for such instance. Why is Lord Hanuman depicted in red color?

We have seen many idols of Lord Hanuman depicted in red colour. But have you ever wondered why is that so? Does it signify anything significantly? Well, it has a great story of the devotion of Lord Hanuman towards Lord Ram and it is as follows.  Once when Lord Hanuman visited Sita maa in the Ashoka Vatika he saw her with a red powder applied in the middle partition of her hair. Out of curiosity Lord Hanuman asked Sita maa what is this red powder and why does she apply it? Sita maa answered Lord Hanuman that it is sindhoor and when she applies it in the middle partition of her hair, it makes Lord Ram happy and blesses him with a long and prosperous life. On hearing this Lord Hanuman disappeared from the site and returned after a few moments covered from head to toe in red colour by sindhoor . After this when Lord Hanuman reached Lord Ram with his new appearance and when Lord Ram asked him why is he covered in sindhoor , then Lord Hanuman told him about his conversa...
